Strider
To say that Strider is “our” dog is a misnomer; we are actually Striders’ people. We were waiting for Strider since before he was born. When the time came to meet the puppies, Kathi cautioned me not to become too fond of any particular puppy as placement decisions had not been finalized. Here were all these beautiful balls of fur running widdershins around me… “Strider”, I called. The smallest by half in a little blue collar came right to me…. Still heeding Kathi’s advice, I sat on the floor to get to know some of the others, but within moments it was Strider who was asleep on my lap. Perhaps it would be best to say that we belong to each other….
Since that day our bond has only grown. Our goal for Strider was to have a dog which would be at home with us anywhere; be it long-distance hiking, swimming in Nantucket or sitting in a pub in England. Strider is all of this and more. He loves to work and he loves to play. Everywhere he goes people want to meet him and he is always thrilled to let them pet him – he truly is a great Ambassador!
